The King (王 / 国王) and the Princess (王女) are minor characters from Golden Axe. They are the royal family from the Southwood Kingdom, who are captured by Death Adder and have their kingdom taken over by him. When Ax Battler, Tyris Flare and Gilius Thunderhead learn of this, they go to the Royal Castle and defeat Death Adder, freeing the two and bringing back peace to the kingdom.
In the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive and MS-DOS versions of the game, they inform the heroes that Death Adder was apparently taking orders from someone and asks them to check the castle's Dungeon, where they face Death Bringer. In the PlayStation 2 version Death Adder survives the first battle and escapes to the dungeon.
It is believed that the Golden Axe was left under their care.
